Once a week or so, I buy some music. It needs tagging and cuepointing and all kinds of preparation before I can play it, so I have to listen to it with Traktor. And if I'm going to listen to it, why not mix it? I mean, I've been dying to do just that all week...

I've usually never mixed any of the tracks before. They rarely all go together. Sometimes I might do something silly like loop a phrase for five minutes.

But maybe you're into that sort of thing! :)

Don't ask me where RT1 & 2 went. Maybe someday I'll release them. Today is not that day. :)

It's been fantastic. I played three (non-paying) gigs in the past two weeks. Two-hour sets are exhausting, which is why I'm already signed up for a three hour set next month.

I made recordings and posted them to Mixcloud! They're live sets, and I'm ... well, I'm apparently not bad, but I still need to work on my technical skills. Someday I'm going to get through a mix without accidentally pressing play on the wrong deck!

First, Ascension:

I played this party as sort of a "warmup" for the next one. It's the same venue, but the parties have very different feels. I'm happy that both of them were willing to let me add my own flair to their awesomeness!

While I was free to create whatever sound I wanted for Ascension, Grind has more of an established feeling - it's got a very "industrial" vibe. I still took some liberties with it, but I enjoy flexing the "burn" part of my identity on occasion!

A promoter heard this set and thought it was fantastic. I might have paying gigs soon! I'm looking forward to it :D
